Chair of Philosophy of Mind (Munich)
The Faculty of Philosophy,
Philosophy of Science and Religious Studies at LMU Munich invites applications for a
Full Professorship (Chair) of Philosophy of Mind
commencing as soon as possible. (The position is of type W3 in the German system.)
The holder of this position will also be a member of the interfacultative Munich Center for Neurosciences – Brain and Mind (MCN). Applicants should have a research focus in the field of Philosophy of Mind. Apart from representing the field of Philosophy of Mind, the appointed person is expected to (i) play a substantial role in shaping the philosophical component of the interdisciplinary cluster Brain and Mind at the MCN; and (ii) to engage actively in teaching and research to an adequate degree both within the Faculty of Philosophy and the Graduate School of Systemic Neurosciences (GSN-LMU) directed by the MCN.
Prerequisites for this position are a doctoral degree, teaching skills at university level, excellent academic achievements, and a productive and promising research program.
